Challenges Needed - UK Input to the Horizon 2020 Roadmap

Challenges Needed - UK Input to the Horizon 2020 Roadmap

17.10.2011

An excellent response & outcomes to the ActionPlanT workshop at WMG on Wednesday 19th October & we'll be publishing what we learnt shortly to the Axillium ICT in HVM community.

As our UK Expert Futurologists put it: What we need in the UK are connected tools to communicate good ideas effectively through data and across networks that are secure as well as open for collaboration. A complex challenge that Axillium Research feels UK PLC is well placed to lead.

If you agree, or want to contribute to the discussion, or simply want to hear what the top UK companies see as common challenges for ICT in Manufacturing then get in touch as Axillium will be supporting UK HVM in these taking ideas forward into both EU & UK.

If you or your organisation has an interest in the definition, development or application of IT process, methods and tools that will support tomorrow's generation of manufacturing you can contribute to the UK's future research in Horizon 2020 until November 2011.

The EU vision document for anyone interested in contributing is available to download and we'd like to hear your input to ActionPlanT@Axillium.com.

Topics that are being covered are : Agile manufacturing processes, Seamless factory lifecycle management, Workers at the forefront, Collaborative supply chain, Bringing customers into the loop.

You can also download the ICT for Manufacturing questionnaire (link) and complete this and send this back to us and we will incorporate your ideas into the UK & EU mapping.

We'd like to pass our thanks then to Bentley Motors, Jaguar LandRover, Intel, Delcam, GKN, Theorem Solutions, ShapeSpace, deltaTheta, GE, TSB, EPSRC, Sheffield University & WMG for sharing their thoughts. Much appreciation to the EU ActionPlanT team for supporting the event at Warwick.
