Composites UK and Axillium working together to support composites industry

09.11.2011

Composites UK and Axillium Research are developing a package of support to its members to help make innovation happen.  This closely follows Axillium’s key role in delivering the Composites Grand Challenge for the i-Composites consortium.

Collaborative programmes are crucial to the advancement of the UK composites industry.  Outside the top 38 companies, the UK supply chain is made up of smaller firms supplying into a variety of industry sectors and export.  SME companies are often innovative and forward thinking, but lack the financial resource to fully develop new ideas – this is why collaborative working is critical to their future success.

Dr Sue Halliwell, Composites UK Secretary explains, “Collaboration needs to occur across the supply chain and also between large and small companies alike.  Composites UK are working with Axillium Research to develop a package of unrivalled support to its members.”

Axillium Research bring people and technology together to make innovation happen. Through their High Value Innovation Service (Hi-VIS) they take on the programme administration, freeing up the innovators to focus their energies on the technology challenge at hand.

Will Searle, Founder & Managing Director of Axillium Research, said “We feel passionate about connecting people and technology in innovation communities.  This passion is shared by Composites UK who want to support our fellow members to be more effective in releasing their own innovative creativity.  We are excited to be working with them on developing a package that will enable their members to participate in and benefit from innovation programmes.”
